Iroh is a comprehensive mobile electronic medical record system that efficiently identifies patients, stores, retrieves and visualises their data, enabling doctors to provide better healthcare.

Medical personnel in low-resource settings tend to lack the means and resources necessary to offer the best quality healthcare. Be it difficulties identifying patients, or challenges retrieving medical charts, healthcare professionals face countless barriers trying to perform their work.

Iroh eliminates these obstacles using a context-specific, culture-informed and accessible technological solution, empowering doctors to focus on what matters: provide quality healthcare.

Iroh has been co-designed with medical professionals to ensure it is best responding to their needs on the field. The outcome? A system that helps medical staff manage patients and their charts in an efficient, secure manner, when and wherever they may be.

Healthcare accessibility is at the core of Iroh. From communities affected by natural disasters, to hard-to-reach informal settlements, Iroh is designed to work in the most adverse conditions, so it can reach everyone when and where they need it.

To achieve this, Iroh involves just three components: a portable hardware kit, a biometric scanner, and a mobile app. With the simple press of a button, the system activates itself as a portable server, setting up a local healthcare management infrastructure where there had been none.

1 / Hardware Kit

A Raspberry Pi unit, a power bank and a router inside a portable, splash-proof box is all that is needed to set Iroh up anywhere. Turn it on, and save the information securely on the go. Once an internet connection is available, the data is securely backed up to the cloud.

2 / Biometric Iris Scanner

Lack of IDs, misspelt names and other mishaps all make patient identification a significant challenge on the field. To solve this, Iroh incorporates an iris scanner, a fast, secure technology that can identify patients in seconds regardless of age or healthcare condition.

3 / Mobile App

The app navigates the users through the three stations of a mobile clinic - triage, consultation and pharmacy - which seamlessly connect together. With a UI co-developed with medical staff, data input is smooth, fast and responsive to their individual needs and preferences.

The vision for Iroh can be realised thanks to our highly experienced, interdisciplinary team.
